PC Debbie Taylor and PC Jackie Hopper are the new Neighbourhood Beat Managers for this area (September 2007).
They are supported by Vicky Gummow(/Gummer?), who is our Police Community Support Officer.
For non-urgent issues please call 08452 777444 and ask for the Totnes West team.
The Police remind us that if someone wants to report something requiring reasonably prompt action then the normal 08452 777 444 to the Force Enquiry Centre should be used or 999 for matters requiring urgent attention.
The new website has a range of information available for members of
neighbourhood watch such as the popular information fact sheets on home security
and personal safety.
There is also discussion forum for sharing good practice and to discuss issues
relevant to neighbourhood watch. To use the forum, all you have to do is

Also just for info - some people have the CMS message number saved especially on mobiles (so they can choose to ignore the call and allow to go through to answerphone) and that used to be 01803 550 228 but has now changed to 01392 270073.
Thieves like expensive, portable items that are easy to sell on. Marking your personal possessions can stop them from targeting you and can make life very difficult for the criminal if they do decide to steal any marked items.
Once you have marked your personal possessions using the appropriate method for that item, you can now register it online with a national database.
Registration is:-
· Free
· Easy
· Secure
Registering the details of your property is the next line of defence against thieves. Your contact details, and the details of your property, are stored on an electronic database accessible by Police enabling items to be quickly identified and returned. Your account will be secure and password protected, ensuring that only you can update or change your details.
The following websites offer a property registration service;
Immobilise is one of the UK's largest registries of property ownership and associated crime reports. Registration is free and there is no limit to how many items of personal possessions you can register. You can register just about any kind of uniquely marked item, including your mobile phone.
The Selectamark system enables individuals and companies to permanently and visibly mark their property with accredited products
By registering with bikeregister.com, your bike details will be held on our secure database for the lifetime of the bike and will automatically be included to the national property database immobilise.com providing you with further benefits. You also have the option of purchasing a Police Preferred product for marking the frame of your bike.
Marking and registering your personal possessions will deter thieves but there is still more that can be done to ensure your property remains safe.
· Lock all windows and doors before going out
· Don't leave valuables on display
· Ensure gardens sheds remain locked
· Advertise the fact that your possessions are marked through the use of window stickers
· Regularly check and update your property register account
Remember: If your mobile is stolen or lost, find out how to block it across all networks by calling 08701 123123
