Harberton Folk's final concert:

Sunday 6 July 2008 - Peter Knight's Gigspanner in concert Website 189 of 200 sold

at Harberton Parish Hall, nr Totnes (Map/directions) 7.30pm, doors 6.45pm
Steeleye Span’s fiddle player Peter Knight has an innovative and truly inspirational style of playing, and is considered to be one of the finest fiddle players of his generation. Peter is joined by guitarist and composer Roger Flack whose work with Gigspanner reflects his sensitivity and intuition as a performer within the area of improvisation, and Afro-percussionist Vincent Salzfaas, an inventive and colourfully expressive player who imaginatively applies African techniques to the traditional British tunes explored by Gigspanner. Jan and I saw this fantastic trio in Cornwall last year and can promise you an evening of musical excellence for our last concert, back in the village for a splendid finale to Harberton Folk's 10-year concert series. The website includes a wonderful 7'50" sample track.
Tickets available - £10.00; student/U18 £6.50 -  Order tickets

John and Jan's 'Retirement'

For personal reasons we are 'retiring' from organising folk concert events at the end of our current programme in July 2008. We have had a fantastic 10 years and have been privileged to work with many wonderful people on stage and backstage, and have been very lucky to enjoy the enthusiastic support of many large audiences for our events at Harberton Parish Hall, the Church House Inn Harberton and the Ariel Centre Totnes. Thank you all - John and Jan Culf
