Present: Cllr Hockings, E Janes, G Janes, Stubbings, Fearn, Johnson, D Cllr Steer and Williams

Apologies: Cllrs Beamish, Patrick and Jeffreys.

Clerk: Mrs D Crann

The Chairman opened the meeting. All Councillors had received copies of the previous minutes, which had been signed on 11/5/04. The Chairman then invited Councillors to give their annual reports.

Feoffees – D Cllr Steer reported that each year there were reduced grants as, due to reducing interest rates, there was less money. There was also the occasional grant between meetings.

SHDC – D Cllr Steer reported that the Customer Service Unit was fully operational. A new recycling system was gradually being introduced throughout the District this year. Beacon housing status had been awarded and a £350,000 grant for development control delivery had been received. The planning for Sherford New Town was now under way and a three day workshop had recently taken place.

Harbourne Shuttle – No official report received. Both Cllrs Fearn and E Janes reported the Friday night service was always very busy.

Harbertonford Primary School – No report received.

Harbertonford Playground Group – Cllr Jeffreys had sent in a report, which was read out by the Clerk. She reported that it had been a disappointing year, with very little progress towards a lease of the playground, despite a site meeting with the Diocesan Manager, Mr G Davies. She hoped the coming year would be more fruitful.

Harbertonford Village Hall – A report had been received, which was read out by the Clerk. Bookings at the Hall continue to be good, mostly for evenings and week-ends, but also several block bookings during the day. Plans for a new kitchen extension were now passed and quotes for the work were being sought. Fund-raising continues.

Harberton Parish Hall – Bookings continue to be good. There had been a successful pantomime again this year. Some internal repairs are in progress. There is now a new committee in charge.

Harberton Playing Fields Association – The playing field continues to be well looked after by John Culf, who also uses the new mower around the village of Harberton and in the churchyard.

Chairman – Cllr Hockings agreed to continue as Chairman this year, with Cllr E Janes as Vice Chairman. Cllr Hockings expressed thanks for all the support he had received from the Vice Chairman, Councillors and Clerk throughout the year. He felt that not a great deal had been achieved this year, but the Parish Council was still working on the lease for the Harbertonford play area as well as continuing efforts to bring a successful conclusion to the Harberton Flood Scheme.

We now have a new County Councillor, Geoff Date from Totnes and the Clerk will write to our former County Councillor, Owen Masters, to thank him for all his work on behalf of the Parish over the past years while he was representing us.

The meeting closed at 10.00pm.
