The Chairman opened the meeting by welcoming everyone. The minutes of the previous meeting were considered and, after two amendments, these were signed by the Chairman as a true record.
Matters Arising:
1) Flooding in Harberton – still ongoing
2) Re vehicles on land opposite Hazard Cottage, Harberton. Still ongoing
3) Ford area in Harberton. The Parish Council are looking into design options.
4) Bus shelter in Harbertonford. Cllr S Jane had now carried out further repairs to the seat and it was reported that the timetable had been destroyed.
5) Harberton Playing Field western fence. This had now been repaired by Cllr Hockings, for which many thanks.

Correspondence:
1) A letter from Mrs Pope of Harbertonford was read to the meeting. This letter pointed out that, if there could be traffic lights for a pedestrian crossing, it would be much safer to cross, as was the case during the road works on the A381 recently.
2) Totnes Carers. Poster received advertising their meeting every second Wednesday, 6.30-8.30pm at Totnes Hospital.
3) SHDC. Local Plan Review Update. Details shown to the meeting.
4) South West Water. Details of their new website shown to the meeting.
5) CRUSE Bereavement Care. Drop in sessions on the last Friday of the month, 2.00-4.30pm at Age Concern, Ivybridge.
6) Countryside Agency. Rural Services Survey 2000 to be completed and returned.

14) A letter received from David Holley of Bristol, notifying councillors of an application for the transfer of the Justices’ Licence at the Hungry Horse Restaurant, Harbertonford on 1/12/00 to Mr and Mrs Lane.
15) Letter from Devon Fire & Rescue enclosing a questionnaire. The Chairman will complete and return this.
Matters at the discretion of the Chairman:
1) Cllr Preston-Day reported the buddle hole in Woodland Road, Harbertonford, blocked.
2) Cllr Stubbings showed a letter to the meeting which had been prepared by John Culf and was to be distributed to Harberton residents who park their vehicles at Harberton Parish Hall on a regular basis. This sets out the ground rules for parking.
3) Cllr Hoddinott brought to the attention of the meeting the lack of signing at Wonton Cross along Avonwick road, just beyond the Parish boundary. The Clerk will write to Highways.
4) Cllr Mason reported that the road hedges needed trimming along the road from Marylands to Brockhills, Harbertonford.
5) Cllr E Janes reported a drain at the entry to Prowses, Luscombe, Harbertonford, was often flooding and the surplus water then flooded the garage of that property.
6) It had been noted that too many vehicles were obstructing the bus lay-by at Harbertonford by the A381 bridge.
7) Cllr Monaghan reported complaints by Harbertonford residents of a large milk tanker with a drag travelling along the A381 towards Kingsbridge at an excessive speed each evening between 7.00 and 7.30pm.
